Hurtigruten welcomes passengers with reduced mobility and/or other disabilities on board most of their ships in Norway.
Wheelchair users:
All ships except for MS Nordstjernen and MS Lofoten have at least one cabin that that is suitable for wheelchair users. Passengers need to bring their own wheel chair with them and if they need assistance they need to bring a carer/companion with them. Passengers that bring a motorised wheelchair or scooter need to inform us at the time of booking so we can check with the ship in question.
Hurtigruten regret that excursions have not been specifically adapted for disabled guests, we will be able to advise which excursions are suitable depending on the degree of disability. In a small number of ports there are companies that have vehicles suitable to transport wheelchairs should this be necessary. Arrangements need to be made in advance or whilst on board. Hurtigruten cannot accept any liability/responsibility for such arrangements.
Hearing impaired passengers
Hearing impaired passengers can travel by themselves on board, but need to inform us at the time of booking so the necessary notes are added to the ships manifest. They also need to make themselves known at the reception upon embarkation. This is necessary in case of any emergencies so the passengers can be contacted in their cabin and the necessary assistance given.
Blind passengers
Blind passengers need to travel with a companion who is able to assist them when/where necessary. They need to inform us at the time of booking so the necessary notes are added to the ships manifest. They need to make themselves known at the reception upon embarkation. This is necessary in case of any emergencies so the passengers can be contacted in their cabin and the necessary assistance given.
